About North Oaks Community Foundation

Preserving Our Legacy with Vision for the Future

The North Oaks Community Foundation is a volunteer-led community initiative created to help preserve what makes North Oaks special and invest thoughtfully in what comes next.

North Oaks was built on a rare idea: people and nature can thrive together. Preserving that legacy, while thoughtfully improving it for future generations, will require stewardship, philanthropy, and community leadership.

The North Oaks Community Foundation was created to complement, not duplicate, the work of the City, NOHOA, the North Oaks Company, the Hill Farm Historical Society, and other community organizations.

NOCF is a practical tool designed for North Oaks. It helps preserve and enhance the natural assets that define this community, support thoughtful projects with clear public benefit, and unlock matching grants and outside funding so local generosity can go further.

NOCF has partnered with the Greater White Bear Lake Community Foundation and CommunityGiving to provide professional back-end philanthropic infrastructure. This partnership helps ensure efficient administration and gives donors flexible ways to support North Oaks through cash, appreciated stock, and certain real estate gifts. Through this partnership, NOCF also benefits from the shared expertise and efficiencies of a broader community foundation network.

Volunteer-led and project-focused, the Foundation helps North Oaks act with discipline, accountability, and long-term vision.

WHAT NOCF SUPPORTS

The Foundation’s work is centered on five areas that help preserve what makes North Oaks extraordinary while thoughtfully improving what comes next.

Projects that protect and enhance North Oaks’ forests, waters, shorelines, trails, and natural systems, including invasive species response, stormwater improvements, and related stewardship efforts.

  • Public Recreational Facility Improvements

Thoughtful improvements to shared places and community assets that strengthen accessibility, safety, usability, and long-term quality of life.

  • Community Building and Education

Programs, gatherings, and educational experiences that strengthen connection, civic pride, and shared responsibility across generations.

  • Arts, Culture, and Public Beautification

Initiatives that add beauty, meaning, and enjoyment to community life through arts, culture, placemaking, and thoughtful enhancements to shared spaces.
